Ok time to let out a little rant, amongst all of these wonderfully, visually stimulating images…

If you haven’t figured it out by now, I’m a little obsessed with contrast. Really what would life be without it? Oh I know… BORING! If we weren’t constantly comparing contrasting ideologies, images, opinions, etc, there would be no critique, therefore no progress forward. However I find the notion of vanity to be quite intriguing. Sometimes I can’t help but wonder who some girls role models are. They cake on all this make up and wear shirts as dresses and expect that someone is going to find them attractive! Really? Guys, please do us all a favour, and let these girls know they are pure trash, by IGNORING them. As a female I feel pretty targeted by various sources of media to abstain a certain level of “beauty”. Why is there such an “ideal” standard of beauty amongst women, but NOT men? Recently I was watching a men’s collection walk down the runway during fashion week, and all of the men models were such babes! They hailed from all different ethnicities, had extremely various physical features, even height! So WHY, in this century, does society STILL prefer using tall, Scandinavian, anorexic models??? I know some have attempted to change the industry but there’s a long way to go!

Any authentic woman knows that her beauty is on the inside. I find it very comforting that we all face internal struggles, some pretty severe that no one else could ever get close enough to discover, and that we can hide them so well by creating such a beautiful mask on the outside. Therefore this post is dedicated to EVERYONE who keeps their personal business to themselves. We should all keep a tiny part of ourselves private. Who doesn’t appreciate a little bit of mystery?!

Remember it is your strength, adversity, perseverance and resilience against these struggles, that make you who you are deep down.
